Daniel Wayne was born on May 28, 1952, in Alexandria, MN the son of Donald and Elda (Freeberg) Lindquist. He graduated from Alexandria High School and furthered his education at Alexandria Technical College receiving a degree in Sales & Marketing and Finance and Credit. Dan was united in marriage to Christine Esala on September 17, 1977 in Virginia, Minnesota. To this union three children were born: Rebecca, Tina and Karl. The family resided in Alexandria where Dan worked as a Real Estate Appraiser. Besides work he also enjoyed helping at church as a Confirmation Mentor, on the Church Council, and as a Sunday School Teacher. Dan was also a member of the Viking Sportsmen, Jr. Viking Sportsmen Advisor, MN Dark House Assoc., NAIPA, and the Sunrise Lions. He will always be remembered by his family as ?the best pancake maker?. Time with his family and friends were important and he loved whittling, fishing, hunting, building projects, working with his hands, and farming. Some of his favorite places were on the lake and Therapy Land. Dan died on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at his home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Chris; son, Karl (Samantha), daughters: Rebecca, Tina (Robert) Bosma; grandson, Trenten; mother, Elda Lindquist; brothers: Dave (Rose), Doug; sisters: Debbie (Gary) Witkop, Denise (Jim) Larson; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, mother-in-law, Evelyn Esala. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald; niece, Kristen; great nephews: Nathan and Kyle; father-in-law, Norm Esala Funeral services were held on Friday, January 2, 2009, 1:00 p.m. at the Bethesda Lutheran Church with Rev. Neal Olson and Rev. Dale Olson officiating. Pallbearers were Dave Lindquist, Hank Janz, Jimmy White, Marcus Anderson ?Iver?, Keith Anderson ?Beef?, Pete Peterson, Lee Hustad, Todd Esala. Honorary Pallbearers were: Card Group, Fishing Buddies: Mike D., Mike N., Mark G ?Gussy?, Viking Sportsmen, Jr. Viking sportsmen. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery in Alexandria.
