Celebration of Life for Dave
David Steve Edmunds was born on February 26, 1965, one of three children to Keith and Georgia Edmunds of Clarkfield, Minnesota. He graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1983. During high school David was involved in Football, wrestling and baseball. In 1987 he attended Willmar Community College studying carpentry. David used these skills learned throughout his life, as a jack of all trades. David worked for a variety of companies as a sub-contractor; including a phone company and a grain elevator.
It was in the small town of Clarkfield that David met Donna James, whom was a new school teacher to the area. The couple was united in marriage on August 17, 2007, but had the opportunity to be a part of each other's lives for a total of twenty-four years. Together they enjoyed fishing, home projects and each other's company. Their dogs were their children, and David cared for them and talked to them daily, just as he would a baby. David LOVED DUCK HUNTING, spending time both in Clarkfield and Mud Lake with family and friends. His family and friends meant the world to him. He put a lot of thought and creativity into finding the perfect Christmas gift for his loved ones. David was the fun, silly, goofy uncle that always had the kids laughing and he truly LOVED cooking his fish for them to eat. He was very organized in life, with the exception that he loved to tell stories and would often tell the same ones over, starting them off with "I've probably told you this before." He was a sentimental man whom will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Last week David left this earthly journey for his next journey at the age of 51. He leaves behind, his wife, Donna; parents, Keith and Georgia Edmunds; mother and father-in-law, Don and Toni James; Brothers, Dan (Robin) Edmunds and Paul Edmunds; grandma's, Grace Larson and Helen Gerritsen; nieces and nephews, Kizaray, Nakia, Maverick, Emily, Erin, Olivia and Owen Edmunds, Danielle James and many cousins. David's constant companion, Gauge (dog), is already missing him dearly. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Steve and Gladys Edmunds and Olaf Larson; brother-in-law, David James; cousins, Kenny Edmunds and Patrick Haughie; numerous aunts and uncles. When he entered heaven, he was greeted by his dogs Kota and Rook.
A celebration of his life will take place on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Holiday Inn Alexandria at 3:00 PM. A visitation will take place that day from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM also at the Holiday Inn. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Ducks Unlimited Organization. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
