David W. Hoefer was born on April 26, 1952 in Alexandria, MN the son of Wallace and Audrey (Feda) Hoefer. He graduated from West High School in Billings, Montana in 1970. He furthered his education by graduating from St. Olaf College in 1974 and received his law degree from the Missoula Law School in Missoula, Montana in 1977. David was licensed to practice law in the states of Montana and Colorado. David began his law career in Billings, Montana as a County Attorney. In 1994 he moved to Glenwood Springs, CO where he was the Assistant Garfield County Attorney. He then accepted a position of Assistant City Attorney of Aspen, CO where he was employed until his death. David had many hobbies including golf, tennis, skiing and collecting art. He was a huge Elvis fan and enjoyed the performing arts. David loved sports and enjoyed the Vikings and especially the New York Yankees. David was a very personable and positive man, allowing him to make friends very easily. David loved his family and was the most loving and wonderful son, nephew, cousin, and friend anyone could have. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. David Wallace Hoefer died after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, May 30, 2008 in Glenwood Springs, CO. He is survived by his loving parents Wally and Audrey Hoefer of Alexandria; uncle Ken (Linda) Feda of Benson, MN; several cousins and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his uncles and aunts Marvin and Lillian Feda; Robert and Marion Hoefer; LouVerne and Al Samons and Amy and Hank Brabec. A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Don Clifford officiating. Randy Morken was the organist and Melissa Radermacher was the soloist. Interment was in the Kinkead Cemetery. Casket Bearers were Gary Lund, James R. Feeks, Al Samons, Keith Swenson, Ed Sadler, and Mark Gustafson. Honorary Casket Bearers were all of David?s cousins and friends. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
