David R. Olson, age 77 of Alexandria died on Monday, August 18, 2014 at his home.
David Roger Olson was born on March 4, 1937 in Fergus Falls, MN, the son of Jennings and Lille (Engness) Olson. David was raised in Alexandria and graduated from Jefferson High School. He served in the United States Army and farmed in the Brandon and Garfield area for a number of years. David liked to go fishing and visit with friends at Bethel Manor. He also had a passion for trains.
David R. Olson died on Monday August 18, 2014 at his home in Alexandria at the age of 77 years old. He is survived by his daughter Bobbie Jean Olson of Roseville, MN; son David Olson Jr and wife Lori of Mankato, MN; 4 grandchildren Marci Olson Rushing of Rochester, MN, Jacqueline Olson of Roseville, MN, Ethan Haas-Hartwig of Mankato, MN and Amanda Haas-Jones of Mankato, MN; 3 great grandchildren Samira Olson, Abdi Isse, and Lu-ul Isse; sister Delores Strand of Evansville, MN. She was preceded in death by his parents Jennings and Lillie Olson, James Olson and Lester Olson.
A funeral service was held on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Alexandria. Interment was in the Brandon Cemetery.
