David Quast

March 30, 1955 — December 12, 2016

David Keith Quast was born March 30, 1955 in Alexandria, MN, the son of Raymond and Mary (Maloney) Quast. He was raised and schooled in Alexandria.

David worked as a custodian for the schools and later for the Eagle's Club before becoming fully disabled. He was able to remain independent and lived in Garfield and more recently in Alexandria. In 2014 David became a resident of Edgewood Vista in Alexandria and later of Crestview Manor in Evansville. Most recently he was a resident of Bethany Home.

David enjoyed watching wrestling on television. He watched NASCAR and Formula One racing on television and enjoyed attending the local races in Alexandria. David had been a very active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was proud to hold his thirty year medallion.

Most important to David were his family. He loved spending time with his brothers and sister. All of his nieces were very important to him; he loved children and being able to see them.

On Monday, December 12, 2016 David died at the age of sixty-one years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Norman Quast. David is survived by his brother, Jerry Quast and wife, Barb, of Silver Lake, MN; his sister, Kathy Trenne and husband, Arlyn, of Alexandria; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Reverend Paul Trenne officiated. Honorary pallbearers included all of David's nieces and nephews. Interment followed in the Hudson Cemetery.
