Dellor ?Dee? Ann Ohren Larson died on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 of Alzheimer?s in Alexandria with family by her side. Dellor was born on a farm near Ashby, MN on September 9, 1927 the daughter of Gustave (Willie) and Stella (Pederson) Ohren. She attended Grant County District #11 school. Dellor was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran church. She was currently a member of First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Dellor married Orlando (Sonny) Larson on April 20, 1951 in Evansville, MN. To this union five children were born: Susan, twins Stuart and Steven, Shelly, and Sonja. Sonny?s occupation in construction took them to many locals. They lived in Evansville and Aurora, MN; Thermopolis, WY; Sturgis, SD; Alexandria, MN; Kemmerer, WY; Morgan, UT; Hibbing, MN; and finally back to Alexandria, MN. While living in Aurora, MN, Sonny and Dee along with Duane and Louise Ellingson and many other friends, became charter members of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Dee worked at Ashby Coop, Evansville Caf�, Woolworth?s Department Store in Hibbing and Alexandria, Herbergers, Glenwear, and Bon Jo?s in Alexandria. She was a dedicated hard working, friendly sales clerk. She was a generous, helpful person, who always put others first. Dee was extremely proud of her Norwegian heritage. She was a charter member of the local Sons of Norway chapter holding several positions including Secretary, Cultural Director, Publicity Chairman, Sunshine, and Greeter. Her first language was Norwegian and she loved speaking it to family and friends. A highlight of her life was a trip to Norway with her sister-in-law Sandra Ohren. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her lefsa and flatbread. She loved to cook for company and always made people feel welcome. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who taught her children early to pray. Dellor is survived by her daughters Susan (Joseph) Strong of Bemidji, MN; Shelly (James) Schalbrack of Ogden, UT; Sonja (Gary) Lien of Carlos, MN; Eight grandchildren Leigh Anne Strong of Los Angeles, CA; Gina (Seth) Hardley of Eustis, FL; Andrew Strong of Bemidji, MN; Michael (Angie) Schalbrack of Omaha, NE; Lindsay Schalbrack of Ogden, UT; Liana Lien of Carlos, MN; Landon Lien of Carlos, MN; and Lariah Lien of Carlos, MN; three great granddaughters Alexus Nicholas of Ogden, UT; Lily Schalbrack of Omaha, NE; and Cora Hardley of Eustis, FL; one brother Gail Ohren of Hibbing, MN; four sisters-in-law Ione Ohren of Fergus Falls, MN; Gloria Ohren of Ashby, MN; Arlene Ohren of Evansville, MN; and Corinne Satterlie of Evansville, MN; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Orlando ?Sonny? Larson; sons Steven and Stuart; great grandson Michael Mattila; parents Willie and Stella Ohren; brothers Webster, Cecil, Glenn, and Lowell; sister-in-law Sandra and brother-in-law Sid Satterlie Sr.. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Reverend Greg Billberg officiating. Randy Morken was the organist and ____ was the soloist. Interment was in Mound Grove Cemetery in Evansville, MN. Casket Bearers were Michael Schalbrack, Andrew Strong, Landon Lien, Gary Ohren, Leo Ohren, and Michael Ohren. Honorary Casket Bearers were Leigh Anne Strong, Gina Hardley, Lindsay Schalbrack, Liana Lien, Lariah Lien, Terry Ohren, Leslie Ohren, Jarl Knutson, Kay Satterlie and Duane Ellingson. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
