Delores Anna (Falk) Davison passed away on November 6, 2014, at the age of 88. She died peacefully at her home in Windmill Ponds, Alexandria, with her husband and family at her side.
Delores was born October 27, 1926 to Gust and Clara (Schneider) Falk at her home in rural Rosholt, SD. She attended country school and graduated from Wheaton High School. It was at a dance in Wheaton where she met her soon-to-be life-long dance partner, Earl Ellsworth Davison; they were married on October 17, 1945. Their favorite dance was the two step and they danced whenever they could. Their passion for dancing followed them throughout their married life. Delores also had a talent and passion for singing and sang in many church choirs, cantatas and was a soloist for many occasions. However, nothing compared to her love of family and Earl. She did a lot of cooking – from large meals for hired men taken out to the fields to cookies for her grandchildren and company. She enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours mowing the lawn and growing beautiful flowers. Delores also spent many hours riding with Earl in the pickup to check on the fields or driving their children to activities. This union was blessed with five children. For 25 years they wintered at Roadhaven in Arizona. Many great friends and memories were made there, including learning to golf and her hole-in-one. They traveled extensively, including trips to Australia, Japan, Germany and Hawaii.
When Delores wasn’t busy being a dedicated farm wife and mother, she worked as a hospital aid at the Grant County Hospital. She was a member of the GoldenRod Chapter #61 Eastern Star. Delores and Earl became members of Calvary Lutheran Church when they moved to Alexandria in 2004. She was very involved in her previous church and was a member of many circles.
Delores is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Earl; five children and spouses, Pamela (Keith) Togstad, Brent (Barbara) Davison, Susan (Richard) Kvasager, Frank (Mary) Davison, and Shari (Mark) Dybdal, all of Minnesota; grandchildren, Jill Togstad Schrier, Robin Togstad Percival, Docia Togstad Hogan, Christopher Davison, Chad Davison, Ashley Davison Bialke, Jaime Kvasager, Christa Kvasager Olsen, David Kvasager, Stephanie Davison Iannazzo, Tanner Davison, Kelsey Dybdal, and Landon Dybdal; and fifteen great-grandchildren; and all those whom she called friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, who died at the early age of 47, and her father; two brothers, Wesley, who died at the age of 2, and Laurel (Dixie) Falk.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 10, at 11 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church, Alexandria. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-7 PM at Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery, rural Nashua, MN, following the service.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful friends and staff at Windmill Ponds Assisted Living, Hospice of Douglas County staff and volunteers, and for the private staff that cared for Delores until her death. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Douglas County or to Dylan’s Gloves of Love.
Arrangements are with Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
