Delores Emma Jahnke was born on July 28, 1923, one of five children to Gustav and Emma (Jantzen) Jahnke of Parkers Prairie, Minnesota. Delores attended District 50 Elementary School through the eighth grade and graduated from Parkers Prairie High School. In 1946 she began what would be a forty-seven year career for Sears. She started as the catalog sales manager for Sears in the old Red Owl Store. Many people in the area will remember her as the "Face of Sears". It was while working there she met her future husband, Verner Johnson. On October 8, 1955 the two were united in marriage at St. Pauls's Lutheran Church in Moe Township. This union was blessed with two daughters, Alicia and Alaine. Delores and Verner were blessed with one grandchild Lauren, who came into this world on Verner's birthday. Lauren was a treasure to Delores and Verner.

Delores lived a joyful life and loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was deeply committed to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was an active member at Zion Lutheran Church. Delores enjoyed her time belonging to Ladies Fellowship, especially her involvement with the Lutheran Mission Center at the Douglas County Fair. Delores was proud of her German heritage and enjoyed returning to her home town of Parkers Prairie whenever she could. She was a generous person who always wanted to be doing something and to be with people.

Delores went to meet her Savior on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the age of ninety-three. She is survived by her daughters, Alicia Johnson and husband, Jacque Breman, of Alexandria and Alaine Johnson or Mora; granddaughter, Lauren de Ridder and husband, Ronny, of Breda, Netherlands; brothers, Ralph Jahnke, Harland Jahnke and wife, Katie, all of Parkers Prairie; sister, Alice Legueri and husband, George, of Cloquet; sister-in-law, Norma Jahnke of Parkers Prairie.
