Schmidt, Delores Mary, age 79 of Alexandria, MN passed away March 28, 2015.
Delores Doyle (Schmidt) was born in Minneapolis, MN on September 27, 1935.
Delores attended the Basilica of St. Mary Catholic grade school, public schools and graduated from Minneapolis Vocational High School in 1953. She earned an AA accounting degree from Hennepin County Junior College.
Delores married Alvin John Schmidt on October 15, 1955 and had 5 children.
Delores worked in various offices for different companies from Honeywell to Pillsbury and United Healthcare.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Ed Doyle, Husband Alvin, Daughter Diane, Brother Richard (Dick), grandparents, nephew John, and various aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Bacon (Bruce Ehlers), Barbara (Nick Benson), Julie
(Barry Aamold), Paula (Steve Anschutz), 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren (plus a new grandson in May), brother-in-law, Frank and sister-in-law, Rose Marie (Maury Ryberg).
Delores was an active member of St. Mary's Church as well as community services. She was an officer in the Daughters of Isabella, volunteers with Elder Network, tax preparer through AARP, quilts at the Alexandria Senior Center and Mission Quilting at the church.
Her hobbies were knitting and crocheting, which she also taught through Community Education and clubs with the Alexandria Area Newcomers Club.
Services will take place on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church located at 420 Irving St, Alexandria, MN 56308. (320) 763-5781.
Visitation an hour before and a Reception will take place after the Services.
