Dennis John Drexler was born on March 14, 1932, in Belle River Township, the son of Leo and Mary (Becker) Drexler. He attended country school District #40. In his younger years he helped his dad on the family farm and at the age of seventeen he started working road construction. On July 10, 1952 Dennis was united in marriage to Violetta Hauer. The couple was married at St. Nicholas Church in Belle River. On August 27, 1952, Dennis was drafted. He was discharged on June 3, 1954 and came back home and continued working for park construction. Dennis? hobbies were fishing, hunting, bowling, snowmobiling, going to the casino and playing cards. He is survived by his wife Violetta; sons Brian (Kathy) of Alexandria, Craig (Lois) of Carlos, Kevin of Carlos, Scott of Carlos. Allen (Missy) of Carlos and daughters Linda Quinn (Jim) of Alexandria, Carol Maus (Darwin) of Osakis, Susan Dahlson (Steve) of Elk River and Vicky Drexler of Zimmerman. Dennis is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a brother Clarence (Marcella) of Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, grandson Shannen, granddaughter Samantha, his parents: Leo & Mary; one brother, Harold; two sisters: Evelyn & Marie. Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 20, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River. Pallbearers were Shaun Maus, Jarrod Drexler, Ryan Quinn, Michael Dahlson, David Drexler, Ricky Hauer. Honorary Pallbearers were his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Burial was at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Belle River. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
