Dennis "DJ" Moen

DJ (Dennis Jay) Moen, 52, of Alexandria passed away peacefully in his home, Saturday, July 11, 2020 surrounded by loved ones.  With his strong and independent spirit he fought for all options to prolong his life but he lost his toughest battle due to aggressive cancer.  DJ was born on April 13, 1968.  DJ was well loved by many, with a humble and giving attitude. He was a dedicated friend to many.  He always made people laugh with his off the cuff comments.  His family was of utmost importance to him. He was a fantastic father to, and is survived by, his two kids, Kevin Moen and Cassie (Moen) Anderson and son-in-law Michael Anderson.  He was a dedicated son, brother, and uncle and is also survived by his father and mother, Dennis (Buck) and Myrna (Terhark) Moen and his younger sister, Robin (Moen) Samuel, brother-in-law, Joe Samuel and nieces, Ella and Sophie Samuel. DJ is also survived by his best friend, Gaylynn Gylten who brought him abundant happiness in the past 2 years.

DJ was an avid fisherman, hunter, and a man who could fix and make just about anything.  He was a hard worker and was always there to help friends and family.  He worked as a Controls Technician for greater than 30 years. To say he will be greatly missed is an understatement. DJ wanted his family and friends to remember him in celebration of his life. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Shriners Children's Hospital in memory of DJ, as their generosity greatly impacted all of our lives.
