Diane Louise (Blocher) Lloyd “DeeDee” 67, of Kensington sadly passed away December 17th at the Alexandria hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Diane was born on May 22nd, 1956 to Charles and Irene Blocher in Morris, MN. Diane graduated from Starbuck high school in 1974. While attending high school she won the “Betty Crocker Award” for baking, which she loved to share with others. After attending Alexandria Technical college, she married Edward Koloski in 1976 and later divorced. Together they had 3 children Andrew, Sarah, and Katie. She remarried in 2005 to Brian Lloyd. She managed the family supermarket in Kensington for many years. Afterward she continued to work various jobs in the area before retiring in 2021. She was a well-loved member of the church and community and always did all that she could to help others around her.
DeeDee enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, casino trips, fishing, dancing to the oldies, and traveling with her husband. She will be remembered for being fun-loving, for her amazing sense of humor, her words of wisdom, and for her strength and courage. She always knew what to do and what to say if her loved ones were struggling. Her memory will live on through the stories shared by all of those that knew and loved her.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Irene (Bye) Blocher. She is survived in death by her husband Brian, Children Andy (Joanna) Koloski, Sarah (Erik) Halvorson and Katie (Jeff) Theis as well as her grandchildren: Blake, Trent, Michael, Mariah, Madison, Jackson, and Elias. Siblings Susan (Rick) Frass, Janet (Bob) Asmus, Jon (Nan) Blocher, Meri (Gary) Danielson, and Stepchildren Michael (Becky), Mark (Jackie), Matthew Lloyd, step grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, 4:00 - 7:00 PM at First Lutheran Church in Kensington. Visitation will continue on Saturday, January 6, 2024, 10:00 - 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church in Kensington with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at First Lutheran Cemetery in Kensington.
