Dianne Watkins

Dianne Kathleen Sargent was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on January 20, 1945, to Leonard L. Sargent and Kathryn M. (Figura) Sargent. She was an only child. When she was five the family moved to Wisconsin to a farm. She went to twelve years of school in that area. Dianne loved the farm animals especially her dog, Sugar.
She continued her education at a Junior College for one year in Rice Lake, Wisconsin and then the family moved back to St. Paul. During this time she held various jobs.
In 1966, Dianne married James Watkins in St. Paul. After their marriage the couple moved to the Alexandria/Glenwood area where they farmed and purchased a business in Glenwood.
In 1989, the marriage ended and Dianne moved to Alexandria living on Ash Street and then moving to Lake Agnes. Dianne enjoyed animals, flowers, and craft shows. She was a board member of Christian Women’s Club for many years, a member of VFW Auxiliary, League of Women Voters, active in her church, board member of Catholic Aide. She was a strong believer of organizations like Catholic Charities.
Dianne died on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, she is survived by many cousins, small number of aunts and uncles, two nieces and nephew, best friends: Kathy Hart & Margaret Schroeder, many other good friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, 2:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
