Dixie Lee (Asleson) Wagner died October 2, 2015 after a year-long battle with cancer.
Dixie was born September 29, 1939 in Lakota, ND to Tony and Mabel (Storkson) Asleson. She attended Lakota High School and graduated in 1957.
Following graduation Dixie was employed by the United Telephone Company, she moved to Minneapolis, MN and in 1961 she married Jim Treischel. They moved to Grand Junction, CO before settling in Alexandria, MN. Jim and Dixie had four children.
In 1972 Dixie married Harold Wagner and helped him on his family farm outside of Carlos, MN for many years. Dixie and Harold had twins.
During her life, Dixie worked for the United Telephone Company, Fingerhut, The Alexandria School District and Times Square. She was an amazing cook and made the best gravy, lefse and potato dumplings. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking and doing ceramics. She even taught people to do ceramics and had her own gift shop in Miltona, MN. Above all she loved to spend time with her children and babysit her grandchildren. In her early 50s she decided to go back to school and graduated from the Accounting program at the Alexandria Tech School.
Dixie is survived by her children, Jamie Treischel, Alexandria; John Treischel, Minneapolis; Jackie Notch, Alexandria; Greg Wagner, Burnsville, MN and Gretchen Wagner, Chicago, IL. Ten grandchildren Mallory Evans; Jonathan, Joshua and Amanda Treischel; Joe, Ben, Nick, and Cody Loghry; Murphy and Carley Notch and four great grandchildren. Four brothers, Wes (Vivian) Asleson, Doug Asleson and Ed (Eloise) Forde all of Devils Lake, ND and Richard (Sharon) Forde of Silverthorne, CO and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, daughter, Janelle Loghry; sister, Ethel Haugen and her two former husbands.
A visitation will held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 5-7PM at the Anderson Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 2PM in at the Petersburg City Cemetery in Petersburg, ND.
