DoLores Gyldenvand

DoLores Ilene (Thompson) Gyldenvand was born at home on the farm on April 21, 1933 in Dean Township, LaMoure County, North Dakota to Robert and Sarah (Pugh) Thompson. She spent her childhood days on the farm until tragically losing both parents by the age of 13. Afterwards, DoLores went to live with her aunt in Moorhead, Minnesota before attending LaMoure High School. In her lifetime, DoLores had three children: Susanne, Betty, and John. Most of DoLores’ working days were spent as a business owner in southeastern North Dakota. After retiring in 2001, DoLores spent her days tending to her garden, canning, and playing card games with friends.

On Monday, March 25, 2019, at the age of 85, DoLores passed away at Bethany on the Lake in Alexandria, Minnesota. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Sarah; brothers, Marvin, Keith, and Dale Thompson, and sister, Viola Antoine.

DoLores is survived by her children, Susanne (Ron) Martin, Betty Selders, and John Gyldenvand; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, and sister, Barbara Pugh.

A private family interment will be held in LaMoure, ND later in the spring.
