Dolores “Dolly” Lantz was born on August 7, 1927, in Mayville, North Dakota the daughter of Knute and Anna (Jenson) Kleveland. She was baptized and confirmed at Mayville Lutheran Church. Dolly attended Mayville High School and graduated in 1945. After graduation she attended Mayville State College.
Dolores was united in marriage to Bradford Lantz on September 8, 1946 in Mayville, North Dakota. To this union three children were born: Jim, Sheila and Barb. After their marriage the couple lived in Minnesota and North Dakota for 4 years, California for 8 years, before making Alexandria their home. Dolly was very involved in her church First Lutheran. She taught Sunday School, Release Time and Bible School. She was also involved in Dorcas and bible study.
Dolly was very dedicated to her family and a very giving person. She worked at Fingerhut for 15 years to help put her children through college. She was Brad’s number one supporter but her grandchildren were her treasure. Dolores also enjoyed Minnesota Sports and especially the Minnesota Twins.
Dolores died on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. She is survived by her two children: Jim (Jane) Lantz, Barb (Mike) Nowicki; 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bradford; daughter, Sheila Novotny; granddaughter, Lisa; brothers: Thomas, Chet Burnham, Murl, Donald; sister, Charlotte.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, 10:00 – 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria with a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Geneva Cemetery.
