Donn Lowen Johnson was born to Deloyd and Lorraine Johnson on April 24, 1952 in Alexandria, MN. Donn graduated from Evansville High School in 1970. Following high school, Donn bought a 160 acre farm 7 miles south of Evansville. He began farming with his dad, Deloyd. He also worked part time for Anderson Electric.
On June 12, 1976 Donn married Mary (Miller) Johnson and they continued to farm south of Evansville. To this union, two children were born, Justyn Mychael and Lindsey Laura. The family sold the farm in 1988 and moved to Victoria Heights in Alexandria and raised their family.
Donn began working for Douglas Machine in 1978 as an Electrician. He spanned a career of over 36 years at Douglas. He retired in 2014. He was a very optimistic man and had a great sense of humor.
As part of his retirement hobby, Donn started researching how to make jerky, beef sticks and summer sausage. He spent hours researching recipes. He purchased all the necessary equipment to make the products and he launched a spot at Holmes City Farmers Market in 2021 where he sold his wares. From May-October you could find Donn and Mary at Holmes City.
Three grandsons, Gavin, Owen and Odin were the love of his life. These grandsons learned many life lessons from their grandpa Donn.
