Donna Adoree Lommen was born on March 25, 1931 in Alexandria to Alfred and Hannah (Dau) Lommen. She graduated from the class of 1949 at Central High School in Alexandria. Donna then went to work for the Alexandria Telephone Company and worked there till 1985 when the office closed. During her years as a telephone operator she made many lasting friends. Donna loved coffee, stuffed toys, plants and flowers, dolls, animals of all sizes and shapes but especially dogs and children. Her pride and joy were the Marusak children, Heidi, J.D. and Brett. Donna was a great sister and a great friend and will be deeply missed and many lives will not be the same without her. Donna died on Monday, June 2, 2008 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 77. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Hannah Lommen; and brother, Howard Lommen. Donna is survived by her brother, Orrin Lommen of Alexandria; sister, Gloria Lommen of Bloomington; aunts, Mildred Okerlund and Betty Dau both of Alexandria; and numerous cousins, friends, and neighbors who were all very dear to her. A funeral service was held on Friday, June 6, 2008 at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Reverend John Peshek officiating. Music was provided by organist, Virginia Hegre and soloist, Karen Gladen. Interment was held in the Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria. Casket bearers were Dewey Marusak, Justen Marusak, Brett Marusak, Heidi (Marusak) Borgen, Chad Borgen, and Larry Okerlund. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria
