Donna Mae (Petersen) Pederson was born the eighth child of nine on March 8, 1932 in Marshall, Minnesota to Elmer and Ruby (Jaycox) Petersen. She attended school through the tenth grade. Donna then went to work for the telephone company in Alexandria as a telephone operator at the age of sixteen. Donna was united in marriage to Myron Pederson on October 26, 1949 in Osakis. To this union the couple was blessed with six children. The couple and family lived in many different cities throughout the state. Donna was a housewife that had many hobbies. She enjoyed buying and remodeling homes and then selling them. Donna also enjoyed doing crafts, decorating, quilting, making dolls, gardening and canning. Donna was a dispatcher with her husband transporting gas for Holiday gas stations. Donna died on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Knute Nelson at the age of 77. She is survived by her husband, Myron; sons, Alan Pederson of Osakis, Michael ?who passed away on July 12, 2009? (Christine) Pederson of Avon, Doug (Judy) Pederson of New London, Steve Pederson of Alexandria, and daughter, Dawn (Karl) Abfall of Wisconsin Dells; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Elmer ?JR? (Murika) Peterson of Ellsworth; sister, Opal Sall of Detroit Lakes; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ruby; son, Eric; and siblings, Clarence, Gladys, Arthur, Robert, Francis, and Hazel. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Alexandria with Reverend Roger Feiler officiating. Entombment was in the Kinkead Cemetery. Casket bearers were the grandsons, Aaron Pederson, Adam Pederson Tim Pederson, Nathan Pederson, Brent Pederson, and Brian Pederson. Honorary casket bearers were the Donna?s children, Alan, Michael, Doug, Steve, Dawn and Eric. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
