Doris Berg, age 85, of Alexandria, died Sunday, October 11, 2015. A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Interment will follow in the West Elbow Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 12 Noon on Saturday.
OBITUARY
Doris Elna Lindblom was born August 9, 1930 in Lien Township, MN, the daughter of Hugo and Elin (Oakstrom) Lindblom. She was baptized and confirmed at Mission Covenant Church. She attended school in Grant County.
On August 7, 1955 Doris was united in marriage to Lowell Berg. The couple made their home in Roseville, MN. Doris worked as a meat wrapper in the meat department of a grocery store for thirty-one years. She was a member of St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church in St. Paul. She and Lowell retired and moved to Alexandria in 1997 to be closer to family. Most important to Doris was her husband Lowell, they had 60 years together.
On Sunday, October 11, 2015 Doris died at the age of eighty-five years. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Wallace, Oliver, Willard, Elmer, Harold and Robert Lindblom; sister, Gloria Aanerud; and niece, Susan Kniss. Doris is survived by her husband, Lowell Berg of Alexandria; sister, Florence Westrom of Alexandria; her brother, LeRoy Lindblom and wife, Constance, of Luverne, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Reverend Rollen Halvorson will officiate. Interment will follow in the West Elbow Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
