Doris Josephs

January 10, 1925 — November 21, 2017

Doris Louise Harry was born January 10, 1925 in Fergus Falls, MN, the daughter of Asa and Edna (Zuehlsdorff) Harry. She was baptized and confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.  She attended school in Fergus Falls where she graduated from Washington High School in 1942.

Doris was united in marriage to Verner Josephs on October 2, 1943. The couple made their home in Fergus Falls where they began raising their family.

Doris worked for S& L, JC Penney and at Western Union.

Doris was a volunteer. She volunteered her time serving on the election board for twenty years. Doris also volunteered as a Sunday school teacher,  a Bluebirds and Campfire Girls leader, and also as a Cub Scout leader.

Doris enjoyed her family, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.  She loved being able to entertain at her home and at the cottage on Wall Lake. Following their retirement, Doris and Verner spent twenty winters in Texas.

On Tuesday, November 21, 2017 Doris died at the age of ninety-two years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verner Josephs; her parents; an infant daughter; a sister, Alma Tomlinson; two brothers, James Harry and Vernon Harry; and a grandson, Zachariah Josephs. Doris is survived by her son, V. Bruce Josephs and wife, Jill; daughters, Gail Froslee and husband, Greg, Beth Ward and husband, Gene, and Gwen Pesola and fiancé, Mark Hosteler; ten grandchildren, Annie, Brad, Jeff, Hilori, Tracy, Kari, Britt, Josiah, Keish and Zach; twenty three great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.

A funeral service will be held 1 PM Friday, November 24, 2017 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Reverend Tim Schiller will officiate. Interment will follow in the First Lutheran Cemetery in Fergus Falls, MN.
