Dorothy Bundy

d. April 30, 2014

Dorothy ?Kitty? Lillian (Hove) Bundy, age 90, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2014. She was born in Alexandria to Clifford and Lillian Hove on April 23, 1924. She was a graduate of Alexandria High School, class of ?42. She attended Hamline University and received her RN degree after completing her nurses training at Asbury Hospital. Kitty was a member of the Cadet Nursing Corps, established with President Roosevelt?s advocacy, in 1943. The Cadet Corps served in many patient hospital wards during WW II. Kitty lived a full and happy life with her husband Charles ?Chuck? Bundy. They were married 63 years and raised four daughters and loved and cared for many dogs and cats. They had wonderful friends, great parties and lots of fun. It was always a beautiful day in Bundy land. She was the best mother and wife and we loved her so. She was an avid gardener and volunteered for over 25 years as treasurer of the Alexandria Food Shelf. She enjoyed the companionship of her sisters, daughters, son in law, granddaughters and great grandchildren. She had a sparkle in her eye and was a joy to be around. She had a sharp mind and a keen wit. Always thinking of others before herself, she was patient, kind, thoughtful, and wise. She set a great example for us all. We are grateful to have been a part of her life and will miss her dearly. She is survived by sisters, Margaret MacLeran and Edith Kelly; daughters Connie Bundy, Lynn Bundy, Janet Bundy and Janet?s husband Eric Petkoff, and Jeri Bundy; granddaughters, Cassandra Ramalingam and husband Krishna, Jessica Lindquist; and great grandchildren, Ryan, Lillian and Dylan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Gertrude Moreau; and her husband. We will celebrate her life at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church on May 10, 2014 at 11 AM. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria
