Dorothy Trousil age 85 passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Knute Nelson. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria, on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 1:00 PM, with a visitation taking place one hour prior. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Dorothy Elizabeth Trousil was born on April 18, 1932 in Lake Mary Township the oldest of five children of Rudolph and Doris (Zielker) Zeithamer. She graduated from high school in Alexandria. She then started working at McKays Grocery and then Sears Roebucks. It was at a dance that Dorothy met Raymond Trousil. The two were united in marriage on June 7, 1955, together the two farmed most of their lives in Lake Mary Township.
Dorothy enjoyed reading, quilting and embroidering. She could often be found tending to her flower gardens or picking produce from her vegetable garden. She often used the produce from her garden to do canning. She had a green thumb and could grow or bring any plant back to life. Dorothy was a honest and knowledgable woman. She loved to visit, had a giving heart and was always willing to help others. Dorothy leaned on her strong faith in God throughout her life. She is reunited now with her husband Raymond and their favorite dog, Skippy in heaven. She will be missed by her friends and family that she has left behind here on earth.
Dorothy passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the age of eighty-five. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents, Rudolph and Doris Zeithamer; Sister, Ruth Krause; brother, Rudy (Shirley) Zeithamer; brother-in-law, Bennie Kalina; nephew, Alan Kalina; and two great-nephews. She is survived by her brothers, Kenneth (Arlene) Zeithamer, Richard (Sonja) Zeithamer and sister-in-law, Margie Kalina. Dorothy was layed to rest next to Raymond in St. Mary's Cemetery.
