Dorothy (Moriarty) Ziebarth was born on July 26, 1925, to Charles and Charlotte (Lawler) Moriarty. She graduated in 1943 from Glenwood High School where she was on the news staff, in the choir and glee club and dance. Following her graduation she moved to the Twin Cities to work with her sister, Mary, and then returned to Alexandria where she met the love of her life.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Arthur Ziebarth on August 17th at her parent’s home. The couple resided in Alexandria where they raised their daughter Pat. During this time Dorothy also worked for the telephone company as an operator and retired after forty plus years of employment.
Dorothy will be remembered as kind, gentle soul. She was filled with joy whenever she had visitors. She enjoyed reading, her flower garden, doing needle point and getting together with her “coffee clutch”. One of her greatest joys was getting to see her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy died on Sunday, July 19, 2015, in Waite Park, Minnesota. She is survived by her daughter Pat & husband, Harvey Kolodjeski; granddaughters: Sue (Paul) Reinert of St. Cloud, Karrie (Dale) Fredrickson of Sartell; great granddaughters: Andrea & Ellie; sister, Joyce (Miles) Collins of Twin Cities.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; siblings: Mary, Agatha, Tom, Margaret, Bernard, and Jim.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015, 3:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria. Burial at St. Ann’s Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
