Dorthy ?Dolly? Ann (Richardson) Frost was born on December 4, 1939 in Cogswell, North Dakota to Douglas and Clara (Peterson) Richardson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Dolly graduated from Stirum, ND High School in 1956 and attended Interstate Business College where she earned a degree in accounting. On June 9, 1962, Dolly was united in marriage to William ?Bill? Frost at St. Aloysius Church in Lisbon, ND. To this union the couple was blessed with two children, Jay and Linda. The couple made their home in Lisbon, ND where Dolly worked as a homemaker. The family moved to different communities for Bill?s career including: Fargo ND, Little Falls MN, Grand Forks ND and St. Louis Park MN before settling in Alexandria in 1976. Dolly started working with children with special needs at Washington Elementary School for a few years. She then worked as a bookkeeper at a variety of businesses including: Renner?s Automotive, Salon Alexis, Alexandria ambulance service and the Depot Express restaurant. In 1995, Dolly became the first employee at Tastefully Simple and worked as a bookkeeper until she became the first retiree from there in 2006. Dolly will be fondly remembered at Tastefully Simple for her personalized post-it notes that she included with various employee payroll checks. Dolly enjoyed getting pampered with manicures and pedicures, going to the casino and playing slots, trips to Las Vegas, Florida and Branson, music, garage sales, shopping, and going to Art In The Park. Most of all she loved her family; especially her grandchildren whom were her pride and joy. Dolly died on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at St. Joseph?s Hospital in St. Paul at the age of 73. She is survived by son, Jay (Mindy) of Brooklyn Park; daughter, Linda (Mike) Herzog of Alexandria; grandchildren, Nathan, Amanda, Lauren and Mikaela; and many nieces and nephews. Dolly is preceded in death by her mother Clara, father Douglas, brothers Clifford and Robert, sister Edith and husband Bill. A memorial service was held on Friday, March 15, 2013 at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Reverend Kari van Wakeren officiating. Music was provided by organist, Randy Morken and soloist, Leigh Pfeffer. Interment was in Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria. Honorary urn bearers were Dolly?s grandchildren, Nathan Frost, Amanda Herzog, Lauren Frost, and Mikaela Herzog.
