Earl Wolfe

November 10, 1918 — November 10, 1918

Earl Leroy Wolfe was born on November 10th, 1918 to Claude and Cecelia (Olson) Wolfe in Lark, North Dakota. At a young age Earl and his family moved by foot to the Moorhead, MN area with their cattle. He had two brothers, Walter and Harold and two sisters, Doris and Vivian. Earl married Inez Mjolsness on April 9th, 1940 and they lived in Northern Minnesota. They adopted Judy Cheryll in 1958 who was 11 months old at the time. Earl did various jobs including farming. In October 1960, Inez passed away from Bright?s disease. On October 26th, 1961 Earl was united in marriage to Lena Marie McDonald, moving to Alexandria in 1962. They owned an antique shop on 6th avenue called the ?The Trading Post?, later to be renamed ?The Curiosity Shop?. Judy married Albert Bullick in February of 1975, and in October of that year Earl and Lena began wintering in Arizona. They square danced their way across the States and into Canada with many good friends. Earl enjoyed fishing, golfing and helping Al with miscellaneous jobs from yard keep to tearing down old barns and everything in between. When he would tire at the end of the day he would put his gloves in his pocket and say ?I?ve had the biscuit? and go home. His main joy was his family, including his two granddaughters Kristal and Amy and later his 5 great-grandchildren. His bond with his youngest Great Granddaughter Darling was one that words just cannot describe. He also enjoyed collecting hats, belt buckles and miles traveling and dancing. On January 5th, 2014, at the age of 95, Earl died at Grand Arbor with his daughter Judy holding his hand and a favorite square dance record playing. He was greeted in heaven by Lena for their ?big party and dance?. He is survived by daughter Judy (Albert) Bullick; granddaughters, Kristal (Jim) Odden and Aymee (Mike) Johnson; and 5 Great Grandchildren, Allen, Bethany, Cecelia, Darling and Eirik Odden. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Cecelia; his siblings Walter, Harold, Doris and Vivian and his wives Inez (infant son, Bruce) and Lena. Dad/ Grandpa will be remembered always and missed dearly, but he?s had the biscuit and is going home for the big dance. Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 9, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Grand Arbor. Burial will be at Kinkead Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
