Edith Sizer was born November 18, 1928 in Belle River Township, MN, the daughter of Luke and Angela (Pasch) Sizer. She grew up in Osakis Township and attended school in Osakis. On March 23, 1949 Edith was united in marriage to Alfred Tschample in South Dakota. The couple made their home in several towns throughout Minnesota. Edith was blessed with one son, Paul. She and her family moved to Los Angeles in the 1970?s and later to Kingman, AZ. Edith worked as a cook in a nursing home in Kingman. After Alfred?s death Edith retired and moved to Long Prairie, MN. . She lived in Long Prairie for sixteen years before moving to Alexandria to be with her son. Edith enjoyed sewing knitting and doing cross-stitch. She also enjoyed watching television and going fishing. Edith was a Life Member of the VFW Women?s Auxiliary. On Wednesday, November 26, 2008 Edith died at the age of eighty years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; three brothers, Bill, Glen and Donald Sizer; and two sisters, Irene Collins and Rachel Castle. Edith is survived by her son Paul Tschample and his wife, Sylvia; two brothers, Scy Sizer and wife, Betty, of Duluth, MN and George Sizer and wife, Shirley, of Backus, MN; two sisters, Iona Anderson of the Twin Cities and Lucille Vanderwerf of St. Cloud, MN; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at St. Mary?s Church in Alexandria. Rev. Fr. Steve Binsfeld was the celebrant. Interment followed on Wednesday in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were with Anderson Funeral Home.
