The world lost an amazing woman on December 28th, 2016 with the passing of Edna Kluver, 93 of Forada, MN.
Edna was blessed with 93 spring seasons and enjoyed spending time in her garden around Lake Harlan. She was humble and kind, and even a little stubborn. She would blame that on that Swedish blood.
She was the daughter of Georgia (Robinson) and Gustuv Peterson, born in Atwater, MN on January 30, 1923. Met the love of her life, Harlan Kluver, and the couple was united in marriage in July of 1945. They lived in many states, including MN, WI and Texas, all determined by Harlan's search for employment. Besides raising her children, Edna was always willing to step in and help where help was needed. Her work outside the home included being a nurse's aid, and the bookkeeper of Viking Blacktop. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before Harlan passed away in 1997.
She was blessed with four children, Dale (Marlene) Kluver of Forada, MN, Gary (Shirley) Kluver of Forada, MN, Keith (Jene') Kluver of Moorhead, MN, Jan (Rick) Simonson of Alexandria , MN; eight grandchildren, Steve (Jo) Kluver, Cindy (Adam) Frederick, Chris (Holly) Kluver, Kari (Jeff) Handlin, Kellie Kluver, Kasey (Samantha) Kluver, Nick (Heather) Simonson, Amanda (Al) VanRoekel; great grandchildren: Kayla Reigstad, Ethan Favor-Jackson, Wyatt Kluver, Savana Kluver, Samantha Frederick, Sarah Frederick, Gavin Kluver, Benjamin Kluver, Westin Kluver, Kimberly Cortezano, Kassidy Kopel, Kelsey Kopel, Jayden Kluver, Emma Simonson, Cheyenne Winters, Brittony Anderson, Ellie Osterman, Miranda Roggenbuck and Joey VanRoekel; one great, great, grand daughter, Ellarie Reigstad.
Preceded in death by parents, loving husband Harlan, granddaughter, Jennifer Kluver, and siblings, Clarence Peterson, Donald Peterson, Hazel Nielson, Gladys Martinson, and Alice Lisecki.
Guaranteed that when you met her for the first time, you would come to a story where there would be some connection, like a brother of the sister's spouse, of your third cousin that she either knew or was related to. She loved telling stories, looking at and sorting 93 plus years of photographs, and spending time with family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 11am at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria, MN with visitation taking place one hour prior to the service.
She leaves us rich in memories. Remember Edna when the flowers bloom in the spring, and the joy they would bring her. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
