Edna Muth age 93, of Alexandria died on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Knute Nelson. Edna was born in Des Moines, Iowa, July 28, 1915 to Emma (Olson) and Ben Rood. On March 4, 1931 Edna was united in marriage to Ervin Muth in Fergus Falls, MN. They farmed near Nashua, MN for 27 years. They were members of St. Paul?s Lutheran Church. Two sons and two daughters were born to them. They moved to Fergus Falls and lived there for 20 years, while there they attended Trinity Lutheran Church. In 1984, they moved to Alexandria and were members of First Lutheran Church. The last four years Edna lived at Winona Shores in Alexandria. Edna enjoyed gardening, baking cookies, making jelly, fishing, having garage sales, and visiting with family and friends. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin, a son, Daniel, her parents, three brothers Clarence, Raymond, and Lawrence; two sisters Gen Ostrom, and Irene Banker. Edna is survived by: daughters Linda and husband, Daniel Zismer of Alexandria; Delores and husband, Val Hagene of Glyndon; a son, Ervin Jr. and wife, Opal Muth of Alexandria; a brother, Irven Rood of Crosby, MN; 8 grandchildren: Rebecca Collison, Mark Muth, Jon Muth, Brent Muth, David Hagene, Gerald Hagene, Laurie Zismer, and Kevin Zismer; and 12 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 11AM at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Reverend Greg Billberg officiating. Visitation will for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Music will be provided by soloist, Annetta Knowles and organist, Randy Morken. Interment will be in the Kinkead Cemetery with Kevin Zismer, Gerald Hagene, David Hagene, Mark Muth, Craig Collison, and Brent Muth serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Rebecca Collison, Laurie Zismer, and Jon Muth. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
