Edward Lee Jarvis was born on June 22, 1934, in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Delmar and Dora (Messer) Jarvis. He was raised on a farm but at the age of five he set his heart on driving big trucks. Ed enlisted in the United States Army in 1956 and specialized in Electrical Systems. He was Honorably Discharged and moved back home where he worked for his parents at their Ford Farm Equipment franchise. On November 9, 1963, Edward was united in marriage to Floretta Ryker. He later started driving truck and achieved his goal of driving ?Big Trucks? in forty seven states and Canada. He preached the Gospel when and where it was needed. May God?s work here be done! Edward died on Tuesday, October 1, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Floretta; sons: Charles, Kevin, and Mike; daughters: Tammy and LeEtta; sister, Charlene Combs; nephew, Russ Combs and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Faye. Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 5, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at New Life Christian Church in Alexandria.
