Edward Larson, age 82, of Alexandria, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015. A funeral service will be held 12:30 PM Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Private interment will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
OBITUARY
Edward Martin Larson, age 82, passed away on March 10, 2015 at home in Alexandria, Minnesota.
Edward was born July 15, 1932 at home near Herman, Minnesota to Mabel and Albert Larson. He was the 11th of 14 children. Edward graduated from Glenwood High School in 1950. On November 30, 1958 he married Patty (Harvey) and for the next 35 years they farmed in Swan Lake Township, between Morris and Hoffman. They retired to Alexandria in 1993. Edward and Patty had two daughters Judy and Wanda (Dent).
Edward was a talented farmer but took time to enjoy time with family and friends on the farm and later at the lake where they made their retirement home. He was the guy who could fix anything and always loved a good card game. He and Patty traveled in the winters and built lasting memories from the many places they visited.
Edward is survived by wife Patty, daughter Wanda (Thomas) Dent, and his three grandsons (Thomas Dent, Michael Dent, and Andrew Dent). He is also survived by sister Ester (Tharaldson) and brothers Harold Willhite, Ellerd Larson, and Duane (Pat) Larson. He is preceded in death by daughter Judy as well as several brothers, sisters, in-laws, and friends.
