Edward James Nelson was born on February 23, 1931, in Alexandria, MN the son of Harry and Mary (Boman) Nelson. He attended school through the 8th grade in Alexandria. As a young boy he enjoyed fishing with his dad and uncles. As he got older Eddie would help his parents clean at Finger Hut, he, his brother and dad had a bailing business and he worked with them at Travelers Inn.
Eddie worked for the City of Alexandria for twenty nine years. He will be remembered as a very independent man. In the later years he enjoyed going around town on his scooter and especially enjoyed going to the concerts on the courthouse lawn every Thursday night.
Edward died on Friday, December 4, 2015. He is survived by his brother, F. DuWayne; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts & uncles.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
