Ed passed away peacefully on the morning of February 14, 2018 at St. Williams Living Center in Parkers Prairie, surrounded by his loving family.

Ed was born in Montevideo, Minnesota the son of William and Jennie Grussing.  He joined the Army in October of 1964.  He served his country for three years which included a tour of duty in Vietnam.

Ed married the love of his life JoAnn Grove on December 28, 1964.  To this union four children were born: Tammy, Wendy, Cindy, Wade.  They were blessed with 16 grandkids and 15 great grandchildren so far.  After being honorably discharged from the Army, the couple settled in Minnesota spending the majority of their years together in Garfield.  He attended Alexandria Technical School for Diesel Mechanics upon his return from the war and spent his remaining years as an owner operator for Long Haul Trucking.

He was happiest when holding and playing with his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Fixing and modifying anything he could get his hands on if it needed it or not.  One of his favorite activities was helping control the prairie dog population of Red Owl, SD.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn; four children: Tammy (Doug) Lenz, Wendy Smith, Cindy (David) Elton and Wade Grussing; 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, siblings: Don (Grace) Grussing, Norah Grussing, Curt  Grussing, Judy McCormick, Tommy (Mary) Grussing, Laverne Sternitzky, Betty (Curt) Kees.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Ronald; sister, Esther.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, 2:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Holmes City.  Please join the family in celebrating the life of Edward Kenneth Grussing.
