Eileen Bohne

Eileen Bohne, 81 Eileen Mary Bohne, 81, Hoffman, died December 7, 2011 at Bethany Nursing home. Viewing will be on Thursday 15th from 4-7pm at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, with a memorial ceremony by the Eagles Aerie and Auxiliary members at 6:30PM. The funeral service will be on Friday, December 16th, at 11am at the Anderson Funeral Home with lunch after at the Eagles #3063 in Alexandria. Eileen was born January 4, 1930, the third child to Charles and Regina Fowler in Perham, MN. Eileen graduated from Perham High school in 1947. On August 26, 1953 in Perham she married Norman Laverne Bohne. She and Norman lived in Frazee, Perham, and Chicago over the years, but returned to Frazee where they raised their 4 children. Eventually they moved to the Alexandria area, and ran the Chippewa Trails Resort on Lake Ida Bay and Eileen worked at the Arrowwood Resort as a waitress. In 1983 after the death of her husband, Eileen moved back home to Perham to be with her mother. Eileen moved to Hoffman, MN after her mother passed in 1998 at the age of 99. Eileen joined the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3063 while living in Alexandria, and she became a very independent woman who wouldn?t stop giving of herself. She put most of her energy into becoming a loyal and dedicated Auxiliary member. She traveled wide as a representative of the Eagles Auxiliary with pride and dignity. In 1996 she was installed as State Madam President ? an honor all its own. She made dear friends, and showed much pride in her endeavors. For all of her Eagle life she earned and deserved many awards she was very proud of. To the end of her life she still tried hard to do what she could for the Eagles. Eileen loved life and did whatever she could to enhance it. Her most love was gardening, planting flowers and vegetables, inside and out. She loved doing Cross stitch, knitting and crocheting, plastic canvas ? most types of crafting. She shared her love of crafting by giving many gifts to her friends and relatives ? she felt the effort and joy put into the items made were a part of herself that everyone would remember her by. To this day recipients of her crafts are still talking about them and how they will always remember her through them. She was a huge humanitarian, always wanting to help anyone who needed it. Eileen loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with every part of her heart! She would always talk about them whenever she could. She was even able to brighten the days for others when she was at Bethany Nursing Home. The nurses always said they felt touched with her wonderful smile and attitude ? making their days better. She touched everyone no matter where she went with her infectious smile! Always and independent and decisive person, she made all her living and care decisions herself. She was noted for being prepared and always had things in order. She will be missed so much by anyone who met her. She is survived by her 4 children, daughters; Sharon (Milton) Norstebon, Kay (Mike) Poepping, Dawn (Jerry) Poepping, and son Jay Bohne. Grandchildren: Tracy, Shawn, Sheena, Joey, Sarah, and Jared. Great Grandchildren: Austin, Kaitlyn, Dalton and Kylea. Many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, parents and her 2 brothers. The Casket bearers will be: Ray Fowler, Milton Norstebon, Jerry Poepping, Mike Poepping, Dick Staples and Donald Pennie.
