Elaine Hildebrandt

Elaine Marian (Iverson) Svee-Hildebrandt was born on November 18, 1930 in Benson, MN to Henry and Minnie (Benson) Iverson. In 1949, she graduated from high school in Glenwood, MN. She went on to teacher?s training school and taught at four rural schools. Elaine married Melloyd Svee on August 27,1955 and they resided north of Alexandria, MN. Elaine then became a housewife to raise her three children. She enjoyed music, dancing, playing her accordion, gardening and embroidery. Melloyd passed away October of 1976. On April 16, 1978, she married William Hildebrandt and they made their home in Bloomington, IL. Elaine moved to Grand Rapids, MN in 2002 to be closer to family. Elaine went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 22, 2012 at the Evergreen Terrace nursing home in Grand Rapids, MN at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Minnie; husbands, Melloyd Svee and William Hildebrandt; son, Merlin Svee; son-in-law, Delroy Johnson; and sister-in-law, Beth Iverson. Surviving family includes two daughters, Lorraine (Allen) Miller of Grand Rapids, MN and Shirley Johnson of St. Cloud, MN; two brothers, Harlan Iverson of Glenwood, MN and Marvin (Darlene) Iverson of Benson, MN; five grandchildren, Jason (Summer) Miller of Las Vegas, NV, Daniel (Susie) Miller of Chanhassen, MN, Adam (Jenni) Johnson of Pease, MN, Kaleb Johnson of St. Cloud, MN, and Jared (Shayla) Johnson of Mankato, MN; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler and Gwena Miller, Elsie and Leah Miller, Riley and Dylan Johnson, and Damon Johnson. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Alexandria. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Inurnment will be in the East Moe Lutheran Church Cemetery in Moe Township. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
