As an infant, Eleanor’s parents dedicated her to God. Eleanor accepted Christ as her personal Savior at age 8 and was baptized by Emersion at age 11. She also felt God’s call to teaching children as her life’s vocation.

Eleanor taught in the Minneapolis public schools (namely Corcoran, Standish and Erickson) for 33 years.
During her entire adult lifetime, she was active in her church’s ministries in teaching, serving on various boards and committees.
From Eleanor’s childhood, her aim in life was to follow the teachings of Christ by sharing her faith with others. Her interests centered around family, home reading (especially her Bible), writing her annual Christmas card and her many flower gardens.
In 1988, Eleanor was married to C. Marius Jensen in Holmes City, MN next to the house where she was born. Three years after his passing, Eleanor was married to George K. Battles in 1999, in Alexandria, MN where she lived until her passing.
