OBITUARY Eleanor Meranda Peterson was born on June 2, 1917 in Sanford Township, Grant County, MN, the daughter of Oscar and Anna (Jensen) Jacobson. She attended grade school and helped her family on the farm. After a long courtship she married Thaulo Peterson on June 4, 1949 at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Together they were blessed with a daughter LuAnn and farmed in Lake Ida Township. Eleanor worked hard as a homemaker, cleaning the house, and prepared noon meals for the men working in the fields. Eleanor helped milk cows where she carried the heavy milk cans to the cooler. She was a good cook and wonderful baker. She made homemade donuts, bread and pies. Eleanor?s specialties were her banana cream and lemon pies. Eleanor was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She cared about her neighbors and loved spending time with family. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Eleanor M. Peterson died on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Douglas County Hospital at the age of 93 years old. She is survived by her daughter LuAnn (Robert) Waldoch of Garfield, MN; grandchildren Carleen Peper (Ryan Bonnie) of Hastings, MN; Michelle (Jason) Berning of Wheaton, MN; great grandchildren Kayla Price of Hastings, MN; Drake and Grant Berning of Wheaton, MN; and sister in law Grace Jacobson of Cambridge, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Thaulo Peterson, four brothers, and six sisters. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend John Peshek officiating. Interment was in the Kinkead Cemetery. Casket Bearers were Marlo Schoeneck, Glenn Van Amber, Glen Pedersen, Phil Onstad, Jason Berning, and Ryan Bonnie. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. www.andersonfuneral.net
