OBITUARY Elizabeth ?Betty? Jane Timm was born on February 21, 1932 in Garfield, MN, the only child of Edwin and Theresa (Kloehn) Wodtke. Betty was baptized on March 20, 1932 and confirmed on May 20, 1945 at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Garfield, MN. She graduated from Central High School in Alexandria in 1950. Betty was united in marriage on September 23, 1951 to Everald A. Timm at St. John?s Lutheran Church. They lived in Moorhead, MN for 9 years, returning to Garfield to stay in 1965. Together they had three sons Bradley, Gaylen, and Brent. Betty was a loving housewife and mother who always took care of her boys by cooking and baking wonderful dishes and desserts. Her home was very important to her and she decorated her house for every season and holiday. For over 40 years Betty played the piano and pipe organ for St. John?s Lutheran Church starting at the age of 16. During that time she spent almost every Saturday morning at church, perfecting her craft. She played for many adult and children choirs, weddings and funerals over the years. Due to arthritis she was unable to continue playing at the church but continued to stay active in church activities, LWML, and the Altar Flower committee. Betty worked part-time for the Farmers Co-op Elevator for twelve years until her hearing loss forced her to retire. Betty kept busy by using artificial flowers to make corsages, and bouquets for church, family and friends. She also made a few craft items; she would sell them from time to time. She was involved with the Garfield Fireman?s Auxiliary for many years. Family was very important to her. Although she did not want any fuss over her own birthdays, she always remembered the birthdays and anniversaries of all family relation and friends. Elizabeth J. Timm died on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at her home at the age of 79. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years Everald Timm of Garfield; sons Bradley (Cheri) Timm of Garfield, Gaylen (Bonnie) Timm of Hutchinson, MN; Brent (Heather) of Alexandria; eight grandchildren Ryan and Brady; Geoffrey and Aaron; Allyson, Laura, Brienna, and Zachary; in-laws Phyllis Ramsdell of Alexandria, Marlys Timm of Wadena, MN, Dale Timm of Savage, MN, Janice (Ken) Esala of Garfield, Gerald (Susan) Timm of Minneapolis, MN, Kathy (Wayne) Johnson of Alexandra and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Theresa. A funeral service was held on Monday, July 11, 2011 at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Garfield with the Reverend Shawn Ethridge officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery in Garfield. Casket Bearers were Betty?s Grandchildren. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. www.andersonfuneral.net
