Ellis Harmon Jr. age 77 of Alexandria died on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 3PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the chapel on Saturday.
Ellis Harmon Jr. the son of Ellis and Cornilia (Revis) Harmon, was born on March 28, 1939 in Evanston, IL. He graduated from Evanston Township High School in 1959 and then played football as the starting quarter back for Northern Illinois College. After his college graduation Ellis enlisted into the United States Army from 1962-1964 and then into the Army Reserves until 1968.
Ellis began working for AAA Insurance as a printer and artist for the company for 14 years. He then met the love of his life Judith Hanson. They were united in marriage on February 20, 1983 in Madison, WI. Together they lived in Madison for a few years before moving to Evanston, IL. In 2010 Ellis and Judith moved to Alexandria.
Ellis loved to draw, sketch, and create beautiful pictures. He liked to sketch people especially. "Family Man" was a term that best described Ellis. He had great love for his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his grandsons play basketball and spending time with each of his loved ones. Some of the hobbies Ellis had were fishing, and being a diehard Chicago Bears and Chicago Bulls fan. He will be forever loved and missed by those who knew him best.
Ellis Harmon Jr. died on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 77 years old. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Judith Harmon of Alexandria; children, Pam Randle of Alexandria, Brad (Lodi) Baumann of Miles City, MT, Kevin (Michelle) Baumann of Alexandria, and Shelby (Holly) Burell of Lacrosse, WI; 20 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren; and a brother Thomas Harmon of Waukegan, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons Tim Baumann, Greg Baumann, two sisters, and one brother.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 3PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Alexandria. Visitation was for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the chapel. Casket Bearers were Dante Higgins, Ivan Wilcox, Darmeco Collins Jr, Dakota Baumann, Brandon Robinson, Cory Jones, and Santuan Jackson.
