Elphege (Pin) David Webskowski was born April 25, 1930, at home near Millerville, Minnesota, the son of Joseph and Barbara (Korkowski) Webskowski. He attended a country school near Brandon and graduated from Brandon High School in 1947. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict working with Signal Corps in France and Germany. He began employment at Ludke & Co as a wholesale grocery salesman where he met his wife, Jenny (Nissila).The couple was married on July 1, 1961, and resided in Brandon where they raised a family of four sons and two daughters.
Elphege was involved in many activities in his community. He served in many ways at St. Ann's Church. Elphege was a volunteer firefighter, member of the Brandon City Council, board member of the Brandon Manor Homes, and co-developer of the Meadow Lane Addition to the city of Brandon. He was an active member of the American Legion. In his retirement years, he worked at the Anderson Funeral Home.
Elphege enjoyed many hobbies including FISHING, deer hunting, bowling, playing cards, watching the MN sports teams, bird watching, traveling, and going for coffee and meals with friends. He also loved caring for his lawn and garden and sharing his harvest with others. Most of all he loved spending time with family and friends.
Elphege passed away at the age of 92 on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Brandon Assisted Living Center in Brandon, Minnesota.
He is survived by five of his children: Faye (Joel) Wagar of Rochester; Gary (Lisa) Webskowski of Carver, Lee (Dana) Webskowski of Sioux Falls, SD; Joy (Chad) Springborg of Marshall; and Ross (Heather) Webskowski of Marshall. Grandchildren: Lindsay (Seth) Hays, Marissa (Pohai) McWhirter, Brett Wagar, Cole Wagar; Shannon Webskowski; Lauren (Erich) Berg, Kalin (Brady) Berkland, Kirsten (Dylan) Jones; Brenna and Karsten Springborg; and Dayton and Zander Webskowski. Great-grandchildren: Wesley, Owen and Chloe Hays, Madison and Evelyn Berg, Oliver and Thea Berkland, and Sadie and Senna Jones. Elphege is also survived by his siblings: Evelyn Skrove, Edith Larson, Jean Peterson, Phyllis (Lee) Susanka, and Allen Webskowski.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jenny, his son, Paul, and sisters, Emeline and Arlene Webskowski and Marian Kelly as well as several in-laws, nephews and friends.
Elphege will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., with a rosary at 4 p.m., and a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., Monday, April 17, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Brandon. Visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, at the church. The interment will be in St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery.
