Elsie Jantzen

Elsie was born on May 9, 1938 in Alexandria to Carl and Emma (Roth) Beulke. She was joined in marriage to Delmer Jantzen on July 29, 1961 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Carlos, MN. The couple was blessed with nine children and twenty grandchildren. Elsie was employed outside of the home in a variety of professions but wishes to be most remembered for her faith, and family. Her service to the Lord included: Evening Guild, LWML, PTL, and Senior Choir. She was also very active with the parochial school program at Zion Lutheran School in Alexandria (where all her children attended). She was a member of the school board there for several years. Elsie is remembered for her love and devotion to her family. Their home on Birch Avenue is considered the ?Headquarters? for various family gatherings and social interaction. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her grandchildren and watching them grow. Elsie departed on May 8, 2008, at the Douglas County Hospital surrounded by her family. She left behind her devoted husband, Delmer of 46 years; and their children and families, Duane & Cindy (Lanigan), Cody and Connor; Rodney & Jean (Becker), Derek, Daniel, Emma; Deanna & Jeffrey Roderick, Christian, Erika, Colton, Dawson, and Gavin; Ryan & Dawn (Stubbs), Aaron Stubbs, Ashley, Jordan; Rachelle & Jamie Pfeffer, Logan; LaNell & Kevin Hardy, Kendra and Aubrie; Kendall Jantzen, Zachary & Breanna Schulter; Rhonda & Troy Issendorf, Shea, Kiya; all which reside in the area. She is also survived by one sister Gladys (Rodel) Eberle of Wykoff, MN, and two brothers Elroy (Frances) Beulke of Carlos, MN and Ralph Beulke of Miltona, MN and brother-in-law Pat Brechbiel of Carlos, MN: along with her treasured nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her infant son Randall Duane Jantzen; parents, Carl and Emma (Roth) Beulke; brother, Edward Beulke; sisters, Ruth Beulke and Marie Brechbiel. Funeral services were held on Monday, May 12, 2008, 11:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Rev. Terry Finnern and Rev. William Moeller officiating. Honorary Pallbearers were her grandchildren. Pallbearers were Mark Eberle, Jon Eberle, Darwin Brechbiel, Paul Eberle, Gary Golish and Roy Beulke. Burial was at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Carlos, Minnesota. Arrangments were with the Anderson Funeral Home
