Elza Rocha was born January 31, 1952 in Uvalde, TX, the daughter of Louis and Irene (Clark) Rocha. She grew up in Texas and lived for a short time in Michigan. After graduating high school Elza received training through the job corps.
Most of her adult life was spent in Minneapolis, MN where she did factory work and worked as a cook. While working at a factory Elza was injured and became disabled. She moved to Olson’s Trailer Park in Alexandria about twenty years ago. She lived at Olson’s until about one year ago when she moved to Knute Nelson nursing home.
Elza enjoyed bingo and spending time at casinos. She liked to dance, go out with the girls and have fun. Elza attended powwows in order to spend time with her family. Family was the most important thing in Elza’s life.
On Sunday, December 14, 2014 Elza died at the age of sixty-two years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Irene Rocha; two brothers, Don and Luis Rocha; and one niece, Denise Rocha-Toner. Elza is survived by three brothers, Luis, Santos and Raymond Rocha; and seven sisters, Louisa Rocha, Sylvia Rocha, Sally Rocha, Rose Rocha, Elaine Clark, Julia Norris and Gloria Rocha; best friend, Nancy Leonard; and her cat, Stinky.
A visitation was held on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, MN.
