Ethelwin Briese

Ethelwin Arlene (Blake) Briese was born on November 14, 1926 in Effington Township, Ottertail County, Minnesota to Adolf and Minnie (Karger) Blake. She was baptized and confirmed and attended country school through the 10th grade. Ethelwin was united in marriage to George J. Theusch on October 15, 1946 in Urbank. The family farmed and lived in rural Urbank. To this union the couple was blessed with six boys; Robert, Michael ?Frank?, Richard, Gerald, Edward and Randy. George died in 1960. On August 22, 1964 Ethelwin married Raymond Briese in Parkers Prairie. To this union they were blessed with two children, Lorre and Terry. The family made their home in Parkers Prairie where Ethelwin was a homemaker. Ethelwin was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie. She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening and cooking, especially her apple pies. Ethelwin died on Monday, August 29, 20011 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria at the age of 84. She is survived by her children, Michael ?Frank? (Donna) Theusch of Moorhead, Richard (Sharon) Theusch of Osakis, Edward Theusch of Parkers Prairie, Randy Theusch of Miltona, Lorre (Thomas) McDermott of Parkers Prairie and Terry Briese of Decatur, GA; grandchildren, Theresa and Ashley McDermott, and Dillon Theusch; brother, Marlin (Mavis) Blake of Devils Lake, ND and sister, LaVerna Lutz of Parkers Prairie. Ethelwin is preceded in death by her parents, Adolf and Minnie; husbands, George and Raymond; sons, Robert and Gerald and sisters, Arby, Betty, Geneva, and an infant brother, Ralph. A memorial service was held on Thursday, September 1, 2011 with Reverend Kirk Lee officiating. Music was provided by organist, Gloria Hollatz. Inurnment was held in the Parkers Prairie Cemetery.
