Eugene Granlund

Eugene Oliver Granlund, age 73, died Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Hopkins, Minnesota after a long illness. Eugene was born November 16,1939, to Edward Reuben and Minnie(Linder) Granlund in Nelson, Minnesota. He attended country school in District 15 and graduated from Central High School in Alexandria, Minnesota in 1957. After high school he attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, for one year. Eugene joined the Army in November 1959 and was discharged November 1962 after 3 years of service. His overseas duty was in Europe, primarily in Germany. Eugene was preceded in death by parents Edward Reuben and Minnie(Linder) Granlund, brothers Lester and Norman, and sister JoAnn Soderholm. He is survived by sister, Aldythe Karrow of Valley, Nebraska and brother, Roger Granlund of Alexandria, Minnesota, plus several nieces and nephews. Eugene will be inurned May 3, 2014 in Kinkead Cemetery at a family graveside service. Arrangements are with Anderson Funeral Services, Alexandria, Minnesota.
