Evelyn Graham

Evelyn Mae Markette was born to George and Ida (Olson) Markette on September 15, 1919 in Todd County ? the Osakis area. She grew up in that area and worked at Idlewild Resort for some time. She met Donald H. Graham and married on October 1, 1940. They lived on the old Graham farm and farmed there for many years. They had over 64 years of marriage. To this union were born 2 daughters, Donna Mae (Mrs. Robert Anderson), and DiAnn Marie (Mrs. David Guenther). Evelyn worked in restaurants as dishwasher and kitchen helper and then Bellenca Aircraft as an upholsterer. They lived in Alexandria, Nelson, Carlos and Lake Osakis. They wintered in Arizona. They then went to assisted living at Bethel Manor. Don died Feb.14, 2005 and Evelyn remained in Bethel Manor until 2007, then went to the Galeon Special Care Unit in Osakis. From there she went to Osakis Community Nursing Care where she passed away at the age of 94. Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters; Flo Buckwald Goodman, Amy Opsal, Blanche Reed and Brother Raymond (Buddy). Evelyn was the only one left of her family at the time of her death. Evelyn has 4 grandchildren; Jeff Guenther (Dana) Bonnie (Mark Ukestand), Bobbie and Cheryl Anderson; 5 Great-grandchildren, Tyler Ukestad, Alyssa, Heather Anderson, Elizabeth, Robert Jr., nieces and nephews Her funeral service was held on June 17, 2014 at Osakis Lutheran Church with Reverend Don Reisig. Burial was at Kinkead Cemetery Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria
