Evelyn Lund

Evelyn Lenora Lund was born on the family farm in Hegbert Township on November 1, 1934 to John and Emma (Radtke) Jensen. She attended Drywood country school through the 8th grade. Following her schooling, Evelyn helped around the farm and worked at Marshall Wells Hardware Store in Appleton, MN.

Evelyn was united in marriage to Allen Lund on December 28, 1957. The couple lived in Appleton, MN where they raised their three children. Evelyn spent her time running the household. She always had the house looking immaculate and enjoyed baking and quilting in her free time. On Friday nights and Sunday afternoons, and anytime in between, the couple went out dancing. They also worked together at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton, doing custodial work, for 40 years.

In October 2009, Evelyn and Allen moved to the Arabella Manor in Alexandria, MN. They made lots of friends, who they enjoyed playing cards and marbles with. Allen passed away in 2013.

Evelyn is survived by her children: Janet (Jeff) Konieczny, Jerrie (Julie) Lund, and Janine (Rhonda Andreen) Lund; 8 grandchildren: Erin (Doug) Zierden, Adrienne Konieczny, Katelyn (Brian) Skudlarek, Mitchell (Susan Mayer) Konieczny, Matthew Konieczny, Ashley (Blake) Thompson, Brett (Jennifer) Lund, and Callie Lund; 6 great-grandchildren: Riley, Madelyn, and Carter Zierden, Jesse Thompson, Lanie Lund, and baby Thompson coming soon; and many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband: Allen Lund; her parents: John and Emma Jensen; and her sister: Mavis Schulz,

Evelyn Lund, of Alexandria, died on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at her home at Knute Nelson in Alexandria at the age of 86 years old.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria with a visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at the Appleton City Cemetery in Appleton, MN.

Due to COVID-19 health mandates, everyone will be required to social distance and wearing of facial coverings.
