Fern L. Halstead died (December 4, 2017) at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll, IL.
She was born September 20, 1918, in Forada, Minnesota. The daughter of the late Hans and Ida (Roby) Paulson. She attended Oscar Lake Schools.
Fern enjoyed her crafts and flowers, spending many hours on the things she enjoyed. She spent many of her adult years living in Rockford, IL. before returning home to Minnesota.
Fern is survived by son, Robert Roiland, (Marge), Lake Carroll, IL., two daughters Susan Harrington (Lynn), Wichita, KS., Diana Senters (Fred), Santa Maria, CA., three grandchildren Brad Roiland, New Lenox, IL., Steve Roiland, (Cindy), Libertyville, IL., Careena Robb (John Wesley) Santa Maria, CA., Seven great grandchildren Tyler, Mara, Caleigh, Maya Roiland and great great grandchildren, Grace Senters, Lilah, John Gage Robb. Sister Ada Anderson, Rockford, IL. Stepchildren, Gary Halstead (Norma) Sioux Falls, SD., Richard Halstead, Forada, MN and many step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Halstead, parents, son Phillip Roiland, brothers, Paul and Irvin Paulson, sisters, Muriel Omlalnd, Arlene Roiland, grandson, Paul Senters, stepson Thomas Halstead, and first husband Clifford Roiland.
Service will be on Saturday, December 9th at 1:00 p.m. at Law Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll, IL, there will be no visitation. Interment will be at Farwell Cemetery in Farwell, Minnesota, with graveside services on Tuesday, December 12th, 11:30 a.m.
