Floretta Jarvis

Floretta Jean (Ryker) Jarvis was born in Patriot, Indiana to Floyd and Flora (Shannon) Ryker.  Floretta married Ed Jarvis on November 9, 1963, in Vallonia, IN.  Her occupations included nurse’s aide, poultry plant laborer, waitress and Weight Watchers lecturer.  Floretta enjoyed studying her Bible, reading, conversing with friends and family members, cooking and being a hostess to multiple guests in her home.  She was a member of New Life Christian Church of Alexandria, MN.

Floretta went home to be with the Lord on August 10, 2020, at Alomere Health in Alexandria at the age of 88.  She is survived by sons, Charles Meyers of Fort Mitchell, KY and Kevan Meyers of Dillsboro, IN; daughters, Tamela Broad of Winamac, IN and LeEtta Marek of Minneapolis, MN; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leroy and Dennis Ryker of Milan, IN; and sister, Karen Gadd of North Vernon, IN.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Flora Ryker; husband, Edward Jarvis; son, Michael Meyers; and sister, LaVerne Pratt.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria and will be livestreamed on the funeral home website beginning at 11:00 AM.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.  Interment will be held at Geneva Cemetery in Alexandria, MN.

If preferred, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to donor’s charity of choice.
