Floyd Michael Scott, 72, of Glenwood, formerly of Moore, Montana, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 9, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones. Floyd was born on March 10, 1949, in Lewistown, Montana to Howard and Katherine (Aldrich) Scott. He attended Warm Springs Country School and graduated from Fergus High School in 1967. He was active in 4H, horse club, and rifle club. Floyd and Iris Van Berkom were joined in marriage on July 3rd, 1970 in Denton, MT.
Floyd and Iris made their home in 1973 in Moore, MT where he worked at the Hertel Ranch until 1985 when he started at Fergus County Road Department. He was actively involved in the Moore Volunteer Fire Department and the Methodist Church. In September of 2000, they moved to Minnesota to be closer to their children and grandchildren. While in Minnesota Floyd was employed by Prairie Lakes Coop/CHS until his retirement in 2017. Floyd and Iris lived in Lowry, MN where he was actively involved in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Floyd enjoyed fishing, hunting and because he liked to stay busy he was known as the project manager for the family’s endless requests. Floyd will forever be remembered for his uncanny wit and love of jokes, fondness of holiday traditions, and infectious smile.
Floyd is survived by his wife of over 51 years, Iris; daughter, Julie (Randy) Nowacki of Battle Lake, MN; son, Michael (Sarah) Scott of Sauk Centre, MN; 5 grandchildren: Jorgen Scott, Maxwell Scott, Raymond Nowacki, Rachel Nowacki, Hazel Scott; brother, Duane (Renae) Scott of Geraldine, MT; sister-in-law, Sandy (Dennis) Hogstad of Livingston, MT; several nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Mayo Clinic, North Memorial Ambulance Service and Alomere Health. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Donations will be made in Floyd’s honor to St. Paul Lutheran Building Fund and Moore Volunteer Fire Department.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021, 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria and continue on Friday, December 17, 2021, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lowry with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Service will be live streamed for those unable to attend.
