Frances Lesuer

Frances Louise (Martin) Lesuer was born on October 2, 1945, in Los Angeles, CA. She was raised by her Aunt and Uncle Tom (Dede) and Lena (Mama) Aplin. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, CA in 1963. Frances attended beauty school for two years and worked as a beautician for four years.
Frances was united in marriage to Arthur "Butch" Lesuer on February 17, 1968, at the Chapel of Wedding Bells in Long Beach, CA. The couple was blessed with two sons, Tom and Arthur. The family lived in Long Beach, CA and moved to Glenwood in August of 1977, for a month before moving to Alexandria. Frances worked as a homemaker and loved being there for her boys. One of her favorite sayings was "Endeavor to Persevere" or if she was talking to Butch she liked to say "Ruck Up".
Frances enjoyed crafting, sewing, gardening and watching Army Wives. She had a soft spot in her heart for veterans and said "Thank you" to any vet she came across. Frances was a wonderful, daughter, wife and mother. She was the love of Butch's life and her boys were her shining stars.
Frances died on Friday, May 19, 2017, at her home in Alexandria at the age of 71. She is survived by her loving husband, Butch; sons, Tom (Betty) Lesuer of Alexandria and Art Lesuer of Parkers Prairie; grandson, Madden Lesuer; mother-in-law, Evelyn Lesuer of Alexandria; brother-in-law, Les Lesuer of Des Moines, IA; and sister-in-law, Helen Rosen of Glenwood. Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Dede and Mama Aplin.
The family would like to thank Dr. Paulson, Dr. Raflores, Dr. Alakhras, the staff of Hospice of Douglas County, the nurses of Douglas County Hospital and Bethany Home.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Anderson Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
